Hamish Hunter

Hamish (55) is a past Captain of Scotland and has served as Chairman of the Scottish Rifle Association.

He was born and still lives near Glasgow and is an accountant, hence his position as Team Treasurer which means he’s got all our money.

Hamish has been on numerous trips, including GB Target Rifle Teams to Australia and New Zealand and also the GB Match Rifle Team to Australia in 2004 as well as Scotland tours to Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

In 1992 he was a member of the GB Goodwill Team to the Falkland Islands.

He was the Team Manager for the Scottish Shooting Team at the 2002 Commonwealth Games at Manchester and the Assistant Team Manager at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Malaysia.

Hamish, who started shooting in 1964, has represented Scotland in Match Rifle as well as Target Rifle International Matches for over 30 years. His individual results include 10 Queen’s Final badges including a second place in 1992, as well as having won both the Scottish Championship and the Caledonian Shield.

Hamish is also interested in golf which he currently plays infrequently and not very well but as having now retired hopes to play more often and hopefully improve.
