Peter caught smiling!

D.O.B. 3.07.42

Agricultural engineer by training and spent many years irrigating the deserts of the world before buying a farm in Perthshire. After 10 years of hard graft farming sheep whose main aim is to die he now lets the farm out and has diversified into holiday accommodation.

Peter’s main hobby has been, and still is, British Sports Cars and in particular, the Austin Healey 3000. He swapped his Austin 1100 saloon in 1969 for a 1963 Austin Healey 3000. This car is still with him today together with another Healey, this time a left hand drive 1962 MKII 3000 brought back from the USA.

He developed a passion for travel and in 2000 went 'Around the world in 80 days' with Ann in this second car.

His shooting career started late ie 2 years ago but his rise has been meteoric!

His shooting interest goes back to the early 1990’s when he purchased an S & W 357 handgun but with no serious competition thoughts in mind, However, this was taken away in 1997 and it wasn’t until 2003 that he purchased a second hand 7.62/308 Parker Hale Envoy. This led on to having a 6.5 x 284 F-Class target rifle built for him.

With only a season's experience, Peter managed a third place in the Fife & Kinross Club’s aggregate competition in 2004 (F-Class) and shot for the Scottish team at Barry Buddon in the same year.

He is excited at being selected to be in the Scottish team touring Canada in August this year and is looking forward to the tour.

Best days shooting - 17 consecutive V – bulls at 500 yards.

Worst days shooting – Many, dropping a V – bull.
