Potted history - Shot small bore as a teenager and a little fullbore - fast cars and fast women then took over (hormonal problem). Married in 1969 and sired four children (that I know of) who are now grown up and have produced five grandchildren.

Started back at shooting - MR only - in 1984, was foolish to accept the post of Secretary of the National Rifle Club of Scotland in 1987 and after eighteen years have not yet managed to find another fool! Have represented Scotland in the elcho Match six times as a shooter, and five times as Adjutant.

Occupy my time since giving up the construction industry in 1988 by loading ammunition, initially for match rifle, but for the last three years the target rifle side has grown significantly. About 26000 TR and 10000 MR this year.

 

Greatest shooting moment - Scoring 47 ex 50 at a distance of a mile with no sighters, five of the shots could be covered with a hand.

Other interests - Curling has been my main winter interest, fitting in very well with  MR in the summer months. I also enjoy sailing and motor sport, although my reaction times are now a bit slow for both.

 

Greatest life moment - Watching my daughter Fiona winning a Gold Medal for Britain at the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics for curling.
