Alastair, originally from the West of Scotland, is a Human Resources Adviser with BP having worked with the company for 30 years. His job is based in London and he lives near Croydon, Surrey.

He is no stranger to Canada having toured with the GB team in 1985, and previously with Scotland and the Athelings.

He started shooting at Glasgow Academy around 1970 and has represented Scotland for many years including tours to other countries/locations such as Australia, New Zealand and Jersey. Other tours have included the NRA team to the Channel Islands and the London & Middlesex Rifle Association team to South Africa in 1998.

Alastair has had the distinction of having shot and coached for Scotland in both the National and Mackinnon matches at Bisley.
Individual successes include winning the Daily Telegraph competition at the Bisley meeting in 1987.

Best day's shooting was winning the Daily Telegraph Trophy with a maximum score and without the need for a tie shoot against 35 other competitors - a rarity these days - and this was in the days of no v-bulls!

Worst day's shooting was when one of the rounds in a competition did not reach the target - very frustrating and spoilt a potentially good score.

His other interests include tennis and golf where he is determined to find more time to lower his handicap - being single, he has half a chance to achieve this!
