It is with a great deal of pleasure that the BCRA welcomes you and the 2005 Scottish Team to Canada and especially to British Columbia. As a survivor of the Scottish tours of 1981 and 1995, I know that visits such as these go far in creating lifelong friendships between shooters and also strengthen the bonds between Rifle Associations, both of which are critical to the survival of our sport. Equally important is the opportunity of our less experienced shooters to develop their skills, shooting under the pressure of representing their country. Congratulations to all competitors wearing the “cap” for the first time! Congratulations also go out to all Scottish veterans of previous tours, who obviously display the courage of their fur trading ancestors.
Hopefully our Highlands won’t make your team too homesick and you will have a very enjoyable visit. We also wish you success [but not too much] on the range. If all goes well, we will be returning the visit in the not too distant future.
Best wishes,
Ken Westling,
President, BCRA |
